March 2021 Favorites

Hello, April! April showers decided to come early in Birmingham, so maybe this month won’t be quite as rainy. Even still, I was able to do plenty of fun things over the past month thanks to fun weekend plans. Although I don’t have anything major planned for April aside from heading to Fairhope for Easter, I’m looking forward to the month ahead!

Before we completely move on to April, I wanted to share some of my favorite things from March. There aren’t quite as many things included as last month, but the items I’m sharing have been constant favorites over the last month.

Lake Pajamas Pima Long-Short Weekend Set in Twiggy

I was given these in February, and after wearing them frequently since then, I think I have a new favorite Lake Pajama style. In the past, I’ve always had Lake’s Pima sets, but the higher neckline but still relaxed fit of the Weekend set is a really cute silhouette. It likely comes as no surprise that I was drawn to this pair thanks to the print and color. I have this set in my normal size, small.

Amazon Dupe of the Lululemon Swiftly Tech Short Sleeve Top

With temperatures increasing, I’ve been reaching more and more for easy-to-layer workout wear pieces. I have a couple of Lululemon’s Swiftly Tech Short Sleeve Tops, and while I love them, they are pretty expensive. I recently found a similar style top on Amazon and decided to give it a try in white. I am so impressed! The quality and style are spot on to what is offered on Lululemon’s site, and I have a feeling I’ll be adding a few more colors of this shirt to my workout top drawer in the coming months.

Chobani Hazelnut Coffee Creamer

Chobani’s coffee creamer was an end of 2020 find for me and has been the only creamer in my fridge ever since. I’ve tried the sweet cream (purple container), vanilla (blue container), and hazelnut (brown container) so far, and I think the hazelnut flavor is my favorite, although all of them are delicious. I also really like the consistency of the cream since it’s thicker than some other creamers I’ve tried!

St. Charles Yacht Tote

I am not someone who is very good at packing light, and no matter how hard I try, I always have a few things that won’t fit in a duffle bag or are a weird shape to try to shove in a suitcase. My Barrington Gifts St. Charles Yacht Tote has been my solution. I throw shoes, toiletries, and even games or snacks in this bag because of how spacious and sturdy the bag is. It’s fully customizable, and I’m eager to get my hands on one of their new spring prints!

Willow Park Boutique Le Printemps Collection Top

I’m so glad that we are moving out of sweater season and into weather that’s perfect for a cute blouse. The cutest blouse I’ve found this year is from Willow Park Boutique’s Le Printemps Collection (shared in this post). Every time I wear it I get lots of questions about where it’s from, and I can’t wait to pair it with white jeans and jean shorts in the months to come.

Such A Fun Age by Kiley Reid

The best book I’ve read over the past month was actually one that I listened to on the Libby app. Such A Fun Age was one I flew through eager to know what was going to happen. I’ve included the amazon synopsis below since I don’t think I’ll be able to explain it quite as well!

"A striking and surprising debut novel from an exhilarating new voice, Such a Fun Age is a page-turning and big-hearted story about race and privilege, set around a young black babysitter, her well-intentioned employer, and a surprising connection that threatens to undo them both.

Alix Chamberlain is a woman who gets what she wants and has made a living, with her confidence-driven brand, showing other women how to do the same. So she is shocked when her babysitter, Emira Tucker, is confronted while watching the Chamberlains' toddler one night, walking the aisles of their local high-end supermarket. The store's security guard, seeing a young black woman out late with a white child, accuses Emira of kidnapping two-year-old Briar. A small crowd gathers, a bystander films everything, and Emira is furious and humiliated. Alix resolves to make things right.

But Emira herself is aimless, broke, and wary of Alix's desire to help. At twenty-five, she is about to lose her health insurance and has no idea what to do with her life. When the video of Emira unearths someone from Alix's past, both women find themselves on a crash course that will upend everything they think they know about themselves, and each other.

With empathy and piercing social commentary, Such a Fun Age explores the stickiness of transactional relationships, what it means to make someone "family," and the complicated reality of being a grown up. It is a searing debut for our times."

Thin Gold Hoops

Who knew a random $9 Amazon purchase would have me thinking, ‘what took me so long to add this to my wardrobe?’ I love the thicker gold hoops I have but sometimes want something more subtle. I can’t speak to the longevity of these since I’ve only had them for a month, but I love the way they look, and so far, they’ve held up well.

Woven Platform Sneakers

I wish I had shared this find with y’all when I bought them back in November (for $19!!!), but since they are more well suited for spring, I didn’t think about it. The woven detail on this pair of comfy grey sneakers makes them the perfect solution for sneakers in the coming season. I ordered them in an 8.5 and should have ordered my typical size eight because they do run a bit big.

I’d love to know if you had any favorites over the past month!
