Gift Guide: Women - Girlfriend, Wife, Sister, Friends

Another day, another gift guide, and I think this may be one of the most versatile and useful ones since it covers so many people that may be on your shopping list! If you’ve found yourself asking what to give your sister, friends, wife, girlfriend, fiancé, or any other lady on your list, then here are my solutions! Price points for these pieces are all over the place, so ideally, there’s something for everyone in this guide.

Gift Guide: Dad or Father-in-Law Christmas Gifts

Two gift guides in one week with more to come feels really good! Today we’re covering arguably the hardest person to shop for, your dad and/or father-in-law. I don’t know about y’all, but typically if my dad wants something, he will get it for himself making his wish list short and the amount of creativity it takes to find the perfect gift a lot more than usual. I think I have my dad covered this year, but I guess I’ll know for sure on the 25th.

If any of you are in the same boat of questioning what to give your dad or father-in-law for Christmas, hopefully, this guide will steer you in the right direction. Avoid the standard socks and tie in lieu of one of these picks based on his personality!

As for all of my guides, I’ve tried my best to include a range of prices and always encourage siblings going in on a gift together when something’s a higher price point than you may want to spend!

Gift Guide: Mother and Mother-in-Law Christmas Gifts

When it rains, it pours in terms of blog posts, at least! I spent a good bit of last night finalizing my product pulls for the holiday gift guides I am hoping to share with y’all through the week, and I’ve got to say they are looking pretty good! I love giving gifts and do my best to come up with thoughtful ideas throughout the year, but sometimes I need a bit of help. I’m hoping to be that bit of help y’all may need when it comes to working through what may remain on your holiday shopping list. In the next few days, you’ll find guides for the recipients y’all have expressed as the hardest to shop for. I’ve done my best to vary prices and retailers so that there is truly something for everyone on each of the guides I create.

To kick off these gift guides, I started with the person who likely deserves something much bigger than can be unwrapped! I know moms can be hard to shop for, but over the years have homed in on the fact that the gifts my mom has loved best are the ones that are something practical but also a bit luxurious that she may not opt to spend money on herself. Since my mom loves all things blue and white (which is definitely where I get this love too), I stuck to that color scheme when pulling items, but many of the products come in a range of colors. Similar to moms, I know many people ponder what to get their mother-in-law for Christmas, and I think this list is perfectly suitable to shop for her too! For some of the bigger ticket items, it may be worth going in on with a sibling to give a gift that you know she’ll treasure!

Step Into My Week 12.6

Well, my goal of getting three posts a week live over the past few weeks hasn’t exactly been accomplished. I’m here today and am hoping maybe that will help make up for that. I’m also hoping that I can get some of my most requested gift guides live for y’all this week as you finish up (or even start) your holiday shopping!

Part of my reason for being MIA has been due to soaking in the holiday season and taking some much-needed time off for Thanksgiving! I usually feel glued to my phone and computer over my Thanksgiving break trying to get up new gift guides and sale posts for y’all, but it was SO refreshing to not worry about that this year and instead soak in time with friends and family! I wish I could do it all but am so glad to have prioritized rest and spending time with loved ones.

At the start of Thanksgiving week, our larger girl friend group has our inaugural supper club, which was a blast! We decided we’d choose a theme each month and each bring a dish to complement the theme. This past month was Mexican food, so we had tacos and sides galore! The following Tuesday afternoon we were able to hit the road and head to Fairhope for Thanksgiving with my family. Hunter joined me for the trip, and it was fun to have him there with my parents and grandparents for our Thanksgiving meal. Wednesday was spent prepping and shopping with my mom while Hunter and my dad golfed. Later that night, we went to The Grand Hotel to meet my friends Nell and Mary Helen for a drink before heading home to eat dinner. My grandparents arrived to Fairhope around 10:00 on Thursday and we had the best time catching up, drinking, snacking, and then eventually eating our big Thanksgiving meal. This is only the second year my mom has hosted Thanksgiving as opposed to my grandmother and we all pitched in to help! My grandparents left in the afternoon, and Hunter and I went for a walk by the bay. We played an entire game of Mexican Train that night while drinking my dad’s specialty White Russians. Friday morning, we had a big breakfast and loaded up my car to head to the lake for Thanksgiving break part two with Hunter’s family.

While the guys all played golf Friday afternoon, Hunter’s sister, sisters-in-law, mom, and I all worked on our Christmas shopping. It was nice to cross a lot of people off of my list, and I have since wrapped them up under my tree! Friday night, we had a big Thanksgiving-style meal with beef tenderloin and had a belated birthday celebration for Hunter’s sister, Janie. Saturday morning, some of the group went to Auburn to tailgate for the Iron Bowl, but Hunter went to golf instead, so I spent the morning with his mom, sister-in-law, and nephews. Since they drain Lake Martin in the winter, we were able to walk around their slough and see if we could find anything that would’ve fallen into the water. By midday, we made our way back, made lunch, and everyone was back in time to watch the game. It was a stressful one to watch, but fortunately, Alabama pulled through! We packed up the following morning to head back to Birmingham, and I finally started pulling out my Christmas decorations.

This past week I had a big Christmas location shoot on Thursday and spent most of the week preparing for that! It went well, and I’m glad to have that behind me since the rest of my shoots this month are food-related. Rebecca and I had some of our friends over on Friday night for pizza and a much-needed catch-up session. She even brought her parent’s dog over to join in on the fun! I finished up my Christmas decorating and love the way everything came together. What was going to be a no-plans Saturday turned into a fun adventure to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game. On Thursday, Hunter texted me to see if I wanted to go since his parents ended up with tickets and despite feeling like it may not be a pretty game for Alabama, we decided to go! We left around 9:30, which gave us time to grab a couple of drinks before going into the stadium. We had fantastic seats even though we were the only Alabama fans in our section and walked to the end zone to watch the celebration. After that, we drove back to Birmingham and made it back before 10:00.

Sunday, I slept in a little bit and did typical Sunday tasks before joining Hunter’s mom and sisters-in-law for the Beyond Van Gogh exhibit. It was so impressive to see how they put it together! That night I caught up on the phone with my parents, watched Selling Sunset on Netflix, and went to bed early!

I hope y’all have had a great couple of weeks since we last spoke!
