Prom is here!

Today is Prom! All the anticipation and stress and excitement has all come to this! Tonight is the night and I can't wait to have a blast with my friends! I won't be posting any pictures to the blog tonight but if you follow me on Instagram you are more likely to see pictures earlier! My Instagram name is prepinyourstep so check that out if you would like! Fortunately we get out of school at 11:30 today and I can come home and shower and get ready! All the girls in our prom group are heading to my friends hose at 2:30ish to get ready and hang out before the boys come to take pictures and get the limo before heading to dinner. We then head to our dinner reservation eat and take more pictures and then to prom we go! By this point I will be stressed because I have to announce callouts but it will be all typed out and done so hopefully at that point I will be able to use common skills and read them off of the sheet of paper! We will all head to prom and then after prom everyone is invited to a big breakfast in the theatre of our school which will have desserts and breakfast items yumm! After that all the girls are going back to my friends house and spending the night! I know I will be exhausted come the end of the night but fingers crossed that hair, makeup, and nails turn out in my favor and I hope y'all have had a fantastic week!

Just Madras

Since yesterday I talked about a cute company I decided that today I would do something similar! Today the company is Just Madras. I am sure that name is familiar to many of y'all and if not go check out the cute clothing that they have to offer! Since we are nearing summer and spring is officially here what better time is there to look at new clothing!
Here are my favorites:

The Madras Patchwork Jennifer Dress-Great Island

Kyle Pink Seersucker Skirt
This style is precious and such a fun staple!

Madras Plaid Patchwork Lucy Skirt- Sea Island

Seersucker Sophie Shorts
The best part of these shorts apart from the ruffle is that they can be monogrammed!

With all of these precious clothes, Just Madras has equally cute accessories! I am so sad that the do not have a retailer near me or I would have many of the products they offer! Do y'all have any Just madras clothes? Which products are your favorites?

And if y'all have any hair and makeup tips for prom please tell me anything and everything!

Judith March

This brand started a couple of years ago and I have followed them since the beginning and have yet to be disappointed. As I was browsing through there website this past weekend I was in awe of all of the new cute styles!!
Below are my favorites right now:

I am obsessed with this blue seersucker razor back dress with ruffle strap detail and shirt tail hem!
Can you say perfect!

This Orange Strapless Embroidered Dress would look great with a tan!

And those are only a few of the cute pieces from the spring 2012 collection. While I was looking through the lookbook on the Judith March website I saw tons of other dresses and shorts that I would love to have in my closet! If you have never heard of this company or owned any of the clothing I highly recommend it!

And if y'all have any hair and makeup tips for prom please tell me anything and everything!

Since Spring has sprung and summer is coming quick there is no better time to look at fun totes. Whether you use them for beach bags or to carry around campus tote bags have always been a fun accessory! There are numerous stores who sell reputable totes that are durable and fun. Here are some of my favorite totes of the moment!

One of my favorites from Tipsy Skipper is the Starboard Track Tote.
And another of my favorites is the tipsy tote in Sea Crest!

I love the Pink Whale Classic Tote
And the Patchwork Classic Tote

I love Lilly totes but they come in sorority prints so I wouldn't purchase one of these until after I have pledged!
Even though this isn't a tote, I really want one of these wristlets and I love this print!

Love the Classic Sailboat Map Tote and the best part about these totes is that they are all hand painted!
Another favorite of mine is the S Tyler and Nantucket Red Coral tote.

Seersucker and a monogram = the perfect combination
This jute bag is precious as well!

I am obsessed with these boat totes and all the fun color combinations they can come in!

Where is your favorite place to purchase totes?
What do you use totes for?
Happy Monday!

100th Post!

I am back!! I apologize for taking a week off but my life at the moment and all last week was so hectic that even on Sunday I didn't have the time to pre write posts. But no more worrying about that because I have posts scheduled all week even though this week is crazier than last week. Prom is this upcoming Friday and that is when spring break starts so I am sure other students feel the same way about teachers cramming in tests before we forget it all laying out in the sun. I have a test in every subject this week and soccer games on Tuesday and Thursday (YIKES!). On Friday, students attending prom only have to go to half a day of school so that we can pretty ourselves up for the fun night ahead. But even with half a day I have to be ready by 3 to meet up with my group so I may have to do my nails myself (Another YIKES!). As if I wasn't pressed for time enough already because I am a Junior class officer and technically we host prom for the seniors, I am in charge of callouts. For those of you who are not familiar with what callouts are let me explain/complain. Callouts occur at the beginning of prom and it is where each student is introduced in front of everyone at the event. Here is an example of one that:

Mr. Robert Adam Wright is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Wright and is escorting Miss Anna Susan Clark. Anna is the daughter of Mr. James Clark and Mrs. Allison Smith.

I have to include the students full name, their parents names (super complicated when they are divorced) and all the same information for their dates and I have to announce these on stage at prom and I am not a fan of public speaking! And better yet, I have to do this for 75 students! As if the event of prom isn't stressful enough. Now I am done with my complaining hehe!

I am so excited that I have now posted 100 posts on my blog. It seems like yesterday that I started this and I am thankful for all of my readers as well!

Kind Campaign!!

Today at my school we did such an amazing thing! We held an assembly for girls about Finding Kind. As a peer counselor at my school I had a big part to play in the putting together of this assembly and let me just tell you, it went swell!!
This is the non-profit's mission statement:
Kind Campaign is an internationally recognized movement, documentary and school program based upon the powerful belief in KINDness that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl “crime.”
And this is how they got started:
In February 2009, while attending Pepperdine University, two young girls recognized a problem and decided to do something about it. Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson, both affected by female bullying, decided to create a documentary and non-profit that would ultimately change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across America. The girls have gone on three national tours, spreading their school assembly program and documentary film in hundreds of schools and communities across the country.

both of those excerpts were taken from their website:http: //
and they also have a Facebook page which they update often as well:
(it is quite possible that you may see my picture on that page!)

I highly recommend that any and every school look into getting the adorable girls who founded this non-profit to come and speak at your school and show their documentary because it is amazing! I was fortunate enough to have gotten to sit down and eat lunch with Molly and Lauren (the girls behind the campaign) and they were both so sweet and down to earth!

Here is the trailer for the documentary. As corny as it may seem this is really something amazing!

And here is the other trailer that explains a bit more:

Aren't they adorable!?
I am so glad my school got them to come because as I know not everything is going to be perfect this really makes everyone realize that kindness is achievable by everyone.
And that relates to my favorite quote in the documentary:
"If there is one thing we can all be, we may not all be beautiful, we may not all be smart, we may not all be talented, but we CAN all be kind!!"

See if you can find me on the Facebook page and comment below with your idea on this Campaign!!

Monogram for You Giveaway and Huge Announcement!:CLOSED

Recently I have been collaborating with a group of other high school bloggers and we have a HUGE announcement for you! We have collectively created an online magazine for other girls in high school. Our group does not only target high schoolers but can also apply to younger or older girls as well. Our goal is to share our individual smarts with other girls who would like to hear about them. I was thrilled to be asked to join this brand new project and I can not wait to see the success it brings! I wish that as I entered high school that I had had this type of guide and group showing other girl's ideas of how to face similar situations! Our first issue launches in 25 days and I can not wait to see the result! We have a website up and running right now that I encourage all of y'all to check out!
We also have a Facebook page that would love to feel the love!!
I can not wait to talk more about this collaboration seeing as I am ecstatic about what our hard work will produce.

And now for the giveaway!!!!
