Step Into My Week 6.28

When thinking back over the last week, it was kind of a blur. I’m not even sure I’m properly remembering all that I’ve been up to, which is alarming since it didn’t happen that long ago! I had some jam-filled days which made the week go by even quicker, which was nice since I had a weekend I was looking forward to.

After going to 3 workout classes in a row the previous days, I took a much-needed break on Monday and got up to work on my Amazon Prime Day blog post instead. I eventually went to the office to check to make sure everything I needed for my shoot the following day had arrived and made a pit stop at Trader Joe’s before coming home to work from there in the afternoon. I had a few phone calls and got through some things on my to-do list before Hunter came over so that we could make dinner. We had Trader Joe’s orange chicken and vegetable fried rice before going to our friend Macy’s house to celebrate her birthday with desserts. There was cake and alcohol-filled milkshakes which made for a sweet end of a Monday.

Tuesday morning, I woke up for an early MPower class before coming home to rinse off and get a bit of work done before getting flowers and heading into the office. It had been raining a lot the past few days, which was not ideal given that I was supposed to have an outdoor shoot that afternoon, but thankfully the rain cleared in time for us to start that around 2:30. We wrapped close to 6:00, and I rushed home to shower before heading to Hunter’s house for a cookout he had arranged. I wish I had a picture of the table setup he had on his back porch, complete with towels as tablecloths and an arrangement he put together of flowers from his backyard. Other people brought sides, and he made ribs and wings. It was nice that it had been raining since it made it comfortable to sit outside that night.

Wednesday morning, I decided to allow myself to sleep past 5:00 and woke up rested to work on my least favorite task, my expense report. I was able to accomplish that in the morning and got through a few other to-do list items before going to the Hibiscus House showroom in the afternoon. Once I got home from there around 6:00, I dropped off some leftover flowers with friends before my friend Mary came over to eat dinner and hang out while watching The Parent Trap. She had some work to get done during that time, so I was able to work on a few things as well, which was much more enjoyable with her company. Once she left, I started to lay out a few things to pack before going to sleep.

I went to a 6:00 cycle class on Thursday morning and came home to shower and finish up some laundry and packing before getting to work. I had taken a half-day, so at lunchtime, I went to pick Hunter up so that we could drive to Greenville, SC since we had a wedding to attend in Charlotte over the weekend. We got to Greenville around 6:00 and quickly changed at Sophia and Judson’s house, where we were staying, before going to dinner at the 05 with them. We grabbed drinks downtown afterward and were still in bed pretty early.

Friday morning, we were all up early to get ready since Sophia, and I had a bridesmaid’s brunch to attend at 11:00 in Charlotte at The Duke Mansion. We arrived earlier than necessary, which gave us time to explore before sending the guys off to golf. Sophia and I went shopping once the brunch was over and then checked into the hotel for downtime before the rehearsal dinner at The Mint Museum that night. The view from the venue was of downtown Charlotte, which was pretty and after the meal and toasts, there was a band and dancing. Once the event was over, we went back to the hotel and went to sleep after a full day.

Saturday morning, I slept in a little bit before getting ready and grabbing brunch with my big and her fiancé. Hunter and I scootered there and had so much fun doing that that we scootered around some of Charlotte after too. We eventually met back up with Sophia and Judson and got a drink at a restaurant nearby while watching part of a soccer game. Although she and I weren’t bridesmaids, we had been asked to do a few tasks throughout the weekend and were to be at the church at 3:45, which meant we went back to the hotel somewhat early in the afternoon to get ready. The service began at 4:30, and there was even a gospel choir during the ceremony, which was awesome! After that, we went to the reception and enjoyed the night there until it was over around 10:00. It was so much fun getting to spend time with Ellison and Furman friends I hadn’t seen in a while but by the time it ended, I was tired and ready to take off my heels!

We woke up early on Sunday morning and ate breakfast and packed up so that we could make it back in time for Hunter to play golf with some friends. I napped before showering, unpacking, and talking on the phone with my parents. I ate dinner while watching TV for a bit before going to bed early!

My Favorite Places To Shop For Event Jewelry

It’s not uncommon for summer to be busy with travel, but this year that especially feels like the case. After being limited over the last year, it seems like everyone is getting out of town, making seeing friends during the week more crucial. In addition to fun trips and vacations, there are lots of makeup weddings going on as well. I’m headed to one this weekend in Charlotte for my friend Ellison from college! She and her husband had a small ceremony last year, but after having looked forward to this event for nearly two years, I’m thrilled for her that it is finally here.

In addition to the clothes and toiletries (which will probably just stay packed all summer) I dread packing, I’ve some fun event jewelry that I’m excited to finally break out again. Since I know I’m not alone having a busy social calendar, I wanted to take a moment to share some of my favorite places to find jewelry for weddings and events.

No matter the dress code, I feel like earrings especially can have a large impact on an outfit and tend to be my statement piece when getting dressed. I’ve always been more traditional in my taste of jewelry but will branch out a bit for events while typically sticking to my favorite stone, pearls. I’ve included a few of my favorite websites to shop for pieces below in case you’re on the hunt for something new!

Adler Grier

Adler Grier is my most recent brand discovery, and I am so excited to introduce them to y’all! Each piece is handcrafted and beautifully chic. I love that the pieces I have from the brand can be dressed up or down, and the necklace I have in particular is such a cute everyday piece! Although I tend to gravitate toward hoops or some sort-of dangly earring for events, I’ve found myself reaching for these Pearl Clover Studs when I have a dress that may be more of a statement. Next on my list from them is a pair of earrings from their new Dogwood Flower collection. The details of the flowers and leaves on the pieces are stunning!

Ashley Woods Designs

I’ve worn pieces by Ashley for a few years now and always keep them packed in my jewelry case when traveling for a wedding. I even wore one of her earring sets as a bridesmaid in a friend’s wedding. Her mother of pearl pieces are what I gravitate toward, but she also has some playful rattan earrings that look ready for a beach trip and has introduced some colored stones into her collections as well.

Vivian Drew

If you follow me on Instagram, you may recognize Vivian Drew from a couple of stories I did at the beginning of the month before heading to a black-tie event. I was looking for something that would work well with a patterned gown I was wearing and happily settled on these Pearl Flower Ball Hoops. They worked great for that event and continue to get a lot of wear with their unique shape and subtle statement!

I’d love to know where y’all shop for statement pieces of jewelry!

Step Into My Week 6.22

Well, I definitely thought I was going to have this blog post up yesterday, but lately, I can’t seem to get my act together to have a new blog post up daily, so I’m posting it today instead. Thanks for bearing with me in my inconsistency! I really do hope that I can change this, but with it being summer and feeling on the go more often I am not positive if that will be the case. Plus, now that things are opened back up I am trying not to miss out on activities with friends as well. Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day, even when I wake up before 5:00.

I started my Monday morning with an MPower workout before showering and getting into some work for the day. I had a big video call that afternoon with a client, so I was doing a lot ahead of time to make sure that I was prepared for that. I was able to get other things done throughout the day and then jumped on that call around 3:30. We all talked about the following days’ shoots until after 5:00 at which point I decided to go for a walk while listening to an audiobook. I came back and rinsed off, made dinner, and got some additional computer work done before getting in bed to read.

Tuesday was the first day of the client shoot, so I got up early to head to the office to pull props. We had four recipes to shoot this day with each one needing at least four different shots. While that may not sound like a lot, we had to wait to have each shot approved which made things take a while. I didn’t leave the office that night until 6:45, and although some friends had invited me to join them at Taco Mama, I went for a run to relieve some frustration instead. I then showered, made dinner, and watched an episode of The Bachelorette with my roommate.

I wanted to get a workout in before going to the office, so I went to MPower early Wednesday morning and quickly came home to rinse off and change before going to work. I had hoped our shoot would move a bit quicker this day, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and we didn’t leave the office until nearly 8:00. I was so relieved to have those shoots behind me since the food items we were shooting weren’t the most fun to take pictures of! I grabbed dinner on my way home and went to bed early!

I went to MPower again Thursday morning and then did a bit of work from home most of the day before helping Elizabeth at the Hibiscus House showroom. We shot images of some new inventory and something to use for the giveaway we did over the weekend. I left there around 6:00 and quickly came home to change since Hunter and I were planning to play mini-golf that night. There’s a new activity area by the Drive-In Theater about 15 minutes away from us, so we ate and grabbed a drink there before playing two rounds. Historically I’m really bad at mini golf but somehow managed to get a hole in one despite not winning either of our games. After that, I was exhausted and came home and went to bed.

Hunter and I had talked about going to the lake for the weekend but ended up staying put in Birmingham, which gave me time on Friday to get caught up with work I needed to do after working out. Mid-day, I went to the Hibiscus House showroom to work on things and then later in the afternoon chilled out while watching TV in my room (which is rare for me). That night some friends and I went to a concert at the Birmingham Zoo. Drew and Ellie Holcomb were playing, and it was the perfect temperature to spread out on beach towels and listen to them. When I made it home around 10:30 I was so ready for bed!

Saturday morning, I got up and went to an MPower class, and after showering put my pajamas back on, given how rainy and gross it was outside. I stayed in my pajamas until around 2:00 when Hunter came over and we made a plan for the day. I eventually changed, and we met some friends at a brewery to celebrate another friend’s birthday. We were there until around 6:00 when a few of us decided to get dinner together at Bamboo. From there, we met up with a couple of other people at a place called Mom’s Basement, where we played foosball and then went to one of the guy’s houses to play Quiplash before finally calling it a night.

I took it easy on Sunday until going to a workout class in the afternoon. After that, I showered and called my parents before going with Hunter to dinner with some of his family. I did a little bit of work in bed after that but went to bed pretty early!

I hope that y’all had a nice week and are looking forward to the one ahead!

Amazon Prime Day Favorites 2021

I know Monday is usually reserved for new Step Into My Week posts, but with today being Amazon Prime Day, I wanted to save that for tomorrow to share some of my recent Amazon Prime favorite buys in hopes that some of them will be part of the day’s deals.

I should probably preface this post by saying that I have NO idea what Amazon will choose to make part of their Prime Day Deals, but you’ll be able to find those as they update today and tomorrow here. Instead, I’m just sharing the items that I own and love from the site. Like many people, the two-day shipping Prime offers has saved me many times when it comes to needing something somewhat last minute, and the ease of ordering something from the site makes it a hub for so many of my random purchases. Below you will find recent favorites, but if you’re looking for more Amazon recommendations from me, here are some other posts I’ve done highlighting the retailer’s products:

Summer Outfit Inspiration

I cannot believe we are already into the second half of June. I feel like I’m not alone in thinking this, but wow, this summer is already flying by. I’m sad about this because I feel like I haven’t had a chance to wear many of my favorite summer pieces just yet, but I still find myself scrolling my favorite online retailers in search of new items I love. A bit of a disconnect, I realize. Since it doesn’t make sense to add all of these pieces to my closet, I’ll share them here instead.

I haven’t been great about keeping up with sharing Sunday Styling posts (or my blog in general) lately, so posting these on a weekday feels better than forgetting to share them at all! I’ve had a few of these outfits put together to share for a while and am really hoping that all of the pieces haven’t sold out just yet! Links to each of the pieces can be found beneath each image!

Perfectly Patriotic Pieces for the Fourth of July

I’ve always loved the Fourth of July, but this year I’m especially excited! Typically my family gets together at our beach house to celebrate all together, but since the house was damaged during the hurricane last fall, it’s not looking like that will be a possibility. Even with this change in plans, I’m happy to know about it now, given that last year we were all set on heading down there but decided it was in everyone’s best interest with Covid to cancel. I don’t do well with changes in traditions, and the last-minute change coupled with the fact that I truly didn’t do much of anything on the Fourth of July had me ready to throw quite the pity party. This year, I’m happy to know in advance and have alternate plans that will be lots of fun. I have no doubt it’ll be busy on the lake for the Fourth of July, but I’ll just be happy to be by the water!

I think family time in one of my favorite places is part of the reason I love the Fourth of July so much. There seems to be less pressure than on other holidays, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that a theme is always persuasion for me to love something even more. Give me an excuse to dress for a holiday, and it seems like the Fourth of July comes with plenty! While I’ll be donning red, white, and blue even if everyone else isn’t maybe this post will convince you to join me!

For the past couple of weeks, I have been compiling the cutest red, white, and blue pieces I’ve seen on the internet to put this post together for you. The nice thing is that separated from their patriotic color scheme counterparts, most everything can be worn all summer long. If you see something you like, you can click directly on the item in the image below to be taken to where it can be shopped!

Step Into My Week 6.14

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of today’s Step Into My Week post, I figured it would be a disservice not to tell you about a collaboration launching this morning at 9 am CST. According to Mi Golondrina’s Instagram, they are launching a collaboration with Lake Pajamas. Y’all probably know by now that Lake Pajamas are my favorite PJ brand, and I’ve adored the embroidery and styles of Mi Golondrina’s pieces for years (I even splurged and bought myself one of their tops after surviving my first year of teaching). I am so excited to see what is being offered and will be updating Instagram with my favorite styles once they launch!

As for this past week, it was pretty much normal now that we are feeling more settled in our new rental house. I did have a sore throat and cold to kick it off, which wasn’t ideal, but my body loves to save getting sick until I “have time” and I think that’s what it finally did then.

Because I wasn’t feeling great on Sunday night, I canceled my Monday morning workout and opted to sleep until 6:45 instead. At that point, I got up and went through my typical morning routine before jumping on a video call mid-morning to discuss a shoot I had coming up. I went to the grocery store during my lunch break and worked from home in the afternoon. It was rainy all week too, so I was glad to be able to get things done from the comfort of my home. I cooked a southwest chicken bowl recipe that night and watched an episode of Cruel Summer before going to bed pretty early.

My throat started to feel a bit better on Tuesday, so I went to a cycling class at 6:00 that morning before starting my workday. I got a lot of work done ordering in products for an upcoming shoot that morning and went through emails and other prep work in the afternoon. Later in the day, I went to the Hibiscus House showroom to help Elizabeth arrange some of the new furniture that came in and outline our week’s to-do list. I came home and was surprised by a flower delivery and that night to eat leftovers and watch the first episode of The Bachelorette with my roommate. This season seems like it’s going to be especially raunchy, so I’m not sure how much of it I’ll actually watch, but I was glad to have an inaugural couch night with her at home!

My one shoot of the week happened to be on Wednesday, so I was up early to head to the office to prepare for that. We were shooting a variety of different Dutch Oven dinners for an October issue and wrapped the shoot mid-afternoon. I was able to put away some props and get additional work done before an afternoon MPower class. I’ve gotten in such a habit of working out in the morning that it was kind of nice to mix it up a bit. After that, I came home and showered, and then Hunter came over, and we made Jambalaya. We struggled to find something to watch and settled on Twin Peaks on Hulu. It’s an old show and the acting is kind of mediocre, but now I really want to know what happens, so maybe we’ll watch it for a bit. Hunter left, and I think I was asleep by 9:30, thanks to the storms outside.

I had planned to go to a cycling class early on Thursday morning, but the instructor texted me to inform me that everyone else had canceled, and I felt bad making her teach a private class just to me. Instead, I slept in a little and then thought I’d tackle my to-do list but instead had to put together a pre-production document that I was told about that morning for a client photoshoot I have this weekend. I’m still not sure why that was my responsibility instead of the marketing person’s, but I got it done by mid-day and then finally got around to what I actually wanted to accomplish. I went to the office to start pulling props for that shoot and packaging up returns from a location shoot the previous week. I came home and worked more until around 6:00 when I went over to Hunter’s house so that we could go for a walk. We walked to Crestline Village and ate at Taco Mama since it had finally stopped storming. After walking back we watched the US Women’s National Team’s soccer game, and then I left to head home.

I was up early again on Friday morning for another MPower class before showering and packing for the lake. Fortunately, I finished those things before starting my work day and was able to finish the second half of my workday in the car on the way to the lake after a pit stop at the store for food to cook over the weekend. It was rainy when we arrived, which didn’t bother me, and we made sandwiches and ate them on the porch while watching soccer. I was able to get some more work done before the sun finally came out, and we changed to sit on the dock. Around 5:00, we made some guacamole and hung out a little longer before deciding to go on a bike ride but realizing we didn’t know where the bikes were. Instead, we hung out on the porch a little while longer, and I ended up falling asleep, oops. Hunter had showered and started making dinner, so I quickly showered and helped him with that. We ate on the porch, and once we finished playing a few rounds of backgammon while watching The Hunger Games out there. I was pretty tired, so I went to bed around 10:30.

My internal clock woke me up around 6:00 on Saturday morning, but fortunately, I was able to fall back asleep until 9:00. It felt so nice to sleep in, and because it was overcast, we were able to have a leisurely morning. We had started making Elisabeth and Butter’s French Toast recipe the night before and put that in the oven while sipping coffee and watching more soccer. Once the French Toast was close to being ready, we made eggs and bacon and finally ate our brunch. At that point, it was time to change into swimsuits, pack a boat tote and cooler, and wait for my friend Hallie to pick us up on the boat to go on a ride and to lunch together. She showed up around 11:30 with her boyfriend and another couple, and we boated to The Landing for lunch. Thankfully the sun was out, and we didn’t have to deal with any more rain the rest of the weekend. Since Hunter and I had such a late breakfast we split a sushi roll and Mahi tacos and each had a Bushwacker for dessert. We left The Landing around 3:45 after hanging out for a while and made it back to Hunter’s parent’s lake house around 4:30. Hunter and I quickly had to change since he had a 5:30 tee time at a nearby golf course, and I had offered to ride along with him. I read most of the time while he played and once he finished, we ate outside at the club. On our drive home, we saw tons of deer and got cleaned up before starting Lupin on Netflix. We watched the first two episodes before calling it a night.

Hunter had a 7:30 tee time on Sunday, but since I rode along the night before, I decided to stay at the house. I did some laundry and cleaned up before getting some work done while eating breakfast. Eventually, I changed into my swimsuit and went to read on the dock. Hunter got back around 11:30 and made himself lunch before joining me by the lake. We stayed out there cooling off by getting in and out of the water until 2:00 when I made myself lunch, and we packed up. I think we got on the road to head back to Birmingham around 3:20 and made it back in pretty good time. Once I was home, I showered, unpacked, talked on the phone to my parents, and then sat on my bed getting some work done. I ate dinner and got in bed pretty early to read since I’m nearing the end of my book.

I hope that y’all had a nice week and weekend too! I’m really hoping it doesn’t rain here so much this week.

Saturday Shopping vol. 88

Happy Saturday! I’m spending the weekend at the lake and have had a very ideal slow morning so far, thanks to overcast weather. We have French toast in the oven at the moment, and I can’t wait to dive in. Speaking of diving in, if I had a much larger budget, I’d be diving into purchasing so many of the pieces in today’s roundup. If you see something you’d like to purchase, you can click directly on the item in the image below to be taken to where it can be shopped!

June Moodboard

After a busy May and beginning of June, I'm glad things are settling down so I can start to enjoy summer! From this month's moldboard it is becoming very evident that I'm craving a beach trip and all the bright, fun colors that scream summer to me.

Putting together monthly moodboards has become one of my favorite posts to plan for since it means an excuse to scroll through instagram to see what inspires me. I have the images to a folder in preparation of sharing them with y'all and in turn also sharing some of my favorite Instagram accounts as of late. To discover where any of the images originated, you can click on the links below the image!

Happy Wednesday!

Father's Day Gift Ideas

A general PSA for everyone is that Father’s Day is only two weeks away! Despite that coming quickly, there is still time to order a great gift for your dad. While I still am not quite sure what I am going to be getting for my dad, I did come up with some really fun ideas that I’ll likely be shopping from.

*Keep scrolling for the clickable image!*

*Keep scrolling for the clickable image!*

A few of these things are actually items my dad already owns. Whether he needs grilling shoes (these live by the back door at my parent's house) or ones for going out and about, my dad wears both of these pairs. He also bonded with my boyfriend about how much they love these pants if you’re not afraid of buying clothing for your dad! If you see anything in this post that you’re interested in shopping, you can do so by clicking directly on the item in the image below.

Step Into My Week 6.7

Wow, does it feel good sitting down to write this and actually get it live on a Monday morning. I hate feeling like I am slacking in any area of my life, and lately, it feels like sharing things with y’all both on the blog and Instagram has been where I’ve struggled most. I have lots of ideas, but lately have been lacking the time and am hoping that now that I have a couple of super busy weeks behind me, that can change.

I skipped a Step Into My Week post last week but truly don’t have much to update y’all on in that regard since I was mainly packing up to move and stayed in town for Memorial Day weekend, so instead I’m just focusing on this past week, but here are a few photos from the week before as documentation!

With Monday being Memorial Day, I didn’t have work and instead started my morning with an MPower Pilates workout before spending some of my morning packing my final boxes for the move next door. I was house sitting and finally decided to take advantage of the homeowner’s pool (with permission, of course) and read there for a little while before meeting my friends Mary and Mallory at a different pool. By mid-afternoon, I was ready to get out of the sun and make sure everything was squared away at home. I talked on the phone to my parents, vacuumed, and put boxes in the living room to easily transport before going to bed pretty early.

Tuesday was the start of our moving day, we just had to wait for the new house to be cleaned before actually moving our stuff inside, so it was a bit of a waiting game which I didn’t enjoy since moving already makes me feel unsettled and antsy. Since I had taken that day and the next as vacation days from work, I was more than eager to get started moving since I didn’t have a ton to do work-wise to occupy my time either. Around 9:00, I started to move our deck furniture to the new deck, and Hunter came to help me with that. We went and grabbed breakfast at Crestline Bagel in an attempt to occupy my time and distract me from the move and also catch up since he had been out of town with some of his friends for the week. We also ran to get flowers for my shoot on Thursday so that I wouldn’t have to worry about doing that the following day.

Around lunchtime, the cleaners arrived, and he and I moved over all of the stuff from our basement (Christmas decorations, storage bins, etc.) to in front of the garage of the new house to make that easy to push in when we had access to it. We ate a sandwich as a late lunch, and then finally, around 5:00 were given the keys and the go-ahead to actually move everything in. With the help of a few guys, Rebecca and I were able to get all of the stuff from our last house into the new one by around 7:30. It was an exhausting two and a half hours, but somehow, we all got it done! I showered and started trying to settle into my room but needed to step away from the clutter and went over to Hunter’s house to eat dinner before heading back to go to sleep.

I woke up early on Wednesday, eager to start putting everything in its place, starting with the kitchen. Once I had done that, I worked on my room and got everything in there situated as best as I could. Later in the afternoon, I had to arrange the flowers for my shoot the following day, and the only spot clear enough of boxes where I could do that was the kitchen floor. After finishing that, Hunter came over and helped upgrade our TV, and then we went to Walmart so that I could get a new shower head, extension cord, and a few other necessary items for the new place. I did my final walkthrough of our old house and made sure everything was clean there before he and I went and got Saws for dinner. I came back to shower and get in bed early since I had a location shoot for work the next day.

I got to the office around 7:00 to finish packing for my shoot and load the van. This shoot was for a May/June issue for next year, and even with having seven recipes to get through we were able to wrap the shoot around 3:00. I was exhausted by the time I unloaded everything at the office and was excited to come home to rainy weather, giving me the perfect excuse to stay in and continue to organize. I had agreed to dog-sit for my friend Macy, so other than going over to her house to play with Lolly I mainly stayed at home that night.

Friday morning, I was up early to let Lolly out and feed her, and I stayed and worked from their house until I went to work out. I continued to work there until after lunchtime and then came home and unpack our living room and then it was time to shower and eventually begin getting ready for my plans that evening. We attended Hunter’s sister’s deb ball that night, and it was fun to have an excuse to get dressed up after being gross and sweaty from moving all week. We ate dinner around 6:00, and the presentation began close to 9:00, so I knew it was going to be a late-night but was not expecting to be out on the dance floor until 1:00. I think I finally went to sleep close to 2:00 that night and fell asleep quickly after a very long day.

Saturday morning, I continued to situate things at the house before Hunter and I got a late breakfast at Hero Doughnuts before playing with Lolly for a while. I came back home and took it easy in the afternoon before getting ready and going back over to Macy’s to hang with Lolly before my plans that evening. My roommate, Rebecca’s, birthday was on Friday, so we got a group together on Saturday night to properly celebrate. We went to Carrigan’s Beer Garden and Hunter’s sister Janie and her boyfriend, Matthew, joined us, which was fun. After leaving and letting Lolly out, we went over to Hunter’s parents’ house to play Mexican Train with Janie and Matthew. I think we finally left there around 12:30, which was later than I had thought I would be up that night.

I got up at 6:00 on Sunday to hang out with Lolly and feed her, and I don’t remember the last time I’ve felt so exhausted. Hunter and I got breakfast around 9:30, and then I came home and napped until after 1:00. I talked on the phone to my parents in the afternoon, had an early dinner, and got in bed around 6:30 since I was so tired, and my throat had started to bother me. I’m pretty sure I was asleep by 8:00 and am hoping that with a less stressful week and a lot of sleep, I can get over the exhaustion and symptoms of a summer cold I’m kicking this week off with.

Thanks for bearing with me as I get back into trying to post regularly! I hope y’all have a great week.
