Step Into My Week

Happy Friday! Although this week was a short one academically I was able to fit a lot of fun events into it making it fly by even faster. Anyone else wishing that every weekend lasted 3 days because I could definitely get used to that! This weekend I am heading to a wedding for a Furman friend in Birmingham and am in a bit of disbelief that I have friends who are old enough to be getting married. That's the last thing on my radar during senior year but I know it will be such a fun celebration that I'll be sure to update you on in next week's Step Into My Week.

Although it was Labor Day weekend I opted to stay on campus so as not to disrupt the slight routine I had started to form. It was a weekend of watching Stranger Things (so good!), college football, and hanging outside enjoying the nice weather we had. Nell and I decided to make appetizers and dessert while cheering on the tide and may have eaten our body weight in cream cheese but both dishes we made were delicious and pretty easy to whip together!

For our appetizer we had Swiss and Bacon Dip, a favorite of my families and now my apartment. Then, for dessert we made cookie dough dip that had mesmerized us in a Tasty video and it tastes as good as it looks!

On Monday a group of us decided to take advantage of the last day of the tubing season and spend 3 hours floating down a river to commemorate the end of summer. I had done this once before closer to home and had just as much fun this go round. The water was definitely a good bit chillier than at home but with 11 tubes connected with strings we found a way to distract ourselves from the cooler temperature. I was even talked into going off a rope swing along the river which was a little bit terrifying at first due to how high up it was and the number of people telling me how my form needed to be in order to successfully avoid face planting but it ended up being super fun.

Tuesday was relatively normal as was Wednesday. Although, Wednesday night I was invited to a fun paint class at Vino and Van Gogh, a local art studio in Greenville, to take a class with Megan Carn, an artist I've loved for a while! I was able to bring 3 friends along so we made a night out of perfecting our flamingos feathers and coming up with names for all of the different shades of pink we used. Marquin, the owner of the studio, has tons of classes of this nature on her calendar so if you're in the Greenville area and want to do something like this definitely check out her site. I'll be sharing more photos from the class in a post to come soon but for now enjoy these bright and summery colored photos!

This was my finished painting. I loved how differently all of our paintings turned out even while following the same instructions and I am already trying to decide where in my room these guys should go!

Thursday night I was fortunate enough to be invited to another blog event but this time to celebrate Southern Tide opening a store front in their hometown of Greenville. Nell joined me for the event and we had a blast. They served fun cocktails and delicious candy and appetizers  for us to enjoy while exploring their gorgeous store located downtown on Main Street. The event wasn't complete without numerous photo ops and conversing with the owners and Southern Tide team before heading for a dinner downtown. We also didn't leave empty handed and came home with a thoughtful gift bag filled with fun merchandise and a logo cookie that I quickly devoured. Southern Tide generously sent me the dress I wore to the event and I can't wait to share more photos of it in action very soon!

With a few assignments due today and needing to pack for this excursion I felt very productive this morning waking up to workout and accomplish these things before my 8:30. Two cups of coffee later I am looking forward to a nice nap in the car on the way to Birmingham!

And lastly, if you're not easily offended and were as obsessed with American Girl Dolls as I was you need to read this article! It had me crying because of how hard I was laughing.

I hope y'all had a great week and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend! Thanks for stopping by to read about what I've been up to!
