Today marks my last Monday of graduate school! I finish up on Thursday night with my final presentation and am pretty excited that the end is so near. That does mean, however, that this week is an exceptionally busy one. With four projects/papers due in four days I have a feeling I'll be spending more time behind my computer than usual. My fingers are crossed that this week goes by faster than the last.
I was surprisingly productive last week and was even able to get some school work done at my apartment which never seems to happen. Monday started off pretty normal with an early wake up to make sure everything was ready to turn in for a presentation I had due that day. After class, we had some pretty intense thunderstorms which led me to put on my pajamas earlier than ever. I wish I could say that by doing that I went to sleep earlier, but that wasn't the case. Tuesday was the same way although I went to a Cyclebar class that night and then to dinner with a friend. I really can't remember what I did on Wednesday aside from class meaning that going to class and doing work for class was probably about all that I did. Thursday morning I was up especially early and was very productive when it came to submitting some things and attempting to organize myself for the week ahead. That night, one of our friends had tickets to the Greenville Drive game, so a big group of us went. I don't know how I made it through college without going to Drive games, but I feel like post-grad I've become a regular. Friday finally came, and Ellison, Sophia, and I began it the same way we have the past few weeks with Chick-fil-a Friday before heading to class. I had a phone call afterward and then Ellison and I relaxed by our pool for a little while. That night I decided to tackle the task of cleaning out my closet (since I had done most of the rest of my room the previous weekend). It did not take nearly as long as I thought it would and it felt so good to be done. My closet feels a lot more spacious now that I was able to purge some things which will hopefully help to make the moving process a bit easier. The remainder of that night was spent trying to go through things in preparation for moving.
Ellison and I were both shocked by how much Saturday felt like Sunday, but we welcomed that fact gladly knowing how busy this coming week is. I ended up going to Starbucks, and I was able to finish one of the papers I have due this week there which felt like a relief. Then, Sophia and I had plans to sit by her pool for a bit that afternoon. We had every intention of reading but ended up spending the whole time talking and enjoying a bit of downtime. A few of us ended up going to our friend's mom's house to watch a movie and play What Do You Meme for a relaxing Saturday night. Sunday, I woke up and decided to do a deep clean and purging of my bathroom since that was the only part of my apartment that I hadn't really tackled when it came to getting rid of things. I was able to organize everything nicely which will again make packing easier. After that, I went to Starbucks (my workplace of choice) and was able to finish another assignment that is due this week and start working on another. My iced coffee really kicked in which led me to speed grocery shop (I was in and out of Trader Joe's in 6 minutes which is nearly unheard of for me, especially on a Sunday). I also went to Home Depot and got some packing supplies. From what I have been able to tell, they seem to be the cheapest place to purchase moving boxes. Hopefully having these on hand will help to encourage me to start boxing things up so that everything doesn't feel too overwhelming. Sophia came over to our apartment and then she and I went to dinner at Hall's for their $5 burger special. I am definitely glad we discovered that deal and was happy to not have to cook a meal for myself! Once I got home, I called my parents as I usually do on Sundays and tried to do some last minute things to get ready for the week ahead. Maybe after next week Step Into My Week posts will become more interesting!
