Apartment Bedroom Inspiration

As many of you probably know from this post I'll be living in a new apartment once I head back to Greenville to start grad school in June. My previous apartments came furnished and at the time I didn't realize just how nice that was. So now, I am on the hunt for good, inexpensive furniture to use in my room while still making sure it all looks good together! I am using most of the bedding and decor that I've used in my past bedrooms (here and here) so it's really just the big stuff that I need.

Since I am so drawn to blue and white and that will clearly make up most of the color scheme I am planning to stick to white furniture and a white headboard. Before I left school I was able to get a really cute campaign style desk off of Craig's List that I will be repainting a glossy white to use in my room. I knew I wanted a desk in my room if I was going to get work done and ever since starting to shop for furniture have been really drawn to the campaign style. Aside from desperately needing a bed and mattress my next go to piece will probably be a dresser. Although rooms in college are small they do typically come with a lot of storage. When moving into an empty room I quickly learned that the only "storage" I had was closet space. I really like this Ikea dresser and depending on the dimensions may even get it on my way back to school (otherwise I may take a little trip to Charlotte). I think adding some sort of silver hardware with a bit more personality would make it look so cute with the other pieces I've been toying with the idea of! I will definitely be keeping y'all updated throughout this process and will be sharing any great pieces I come across as I know many of you are also attempting to furnish new places whether for college or post-grad.

I'd love to hear what you think and the names of any great places to shop for furniture on a budget that I may not have thought of!

  1. At Home is a super inexpensive place to look for furniture. Look up My Overlays if you are getting Ikea furniture! They are a really fun and pretty inexpensive way to customize basic pieces. I got them for one of my dressers from Ikea and it totally changed the look of the piece. Also, if you are going to the Ikea in Charlotte there is a place called Furniture Row right across from it (might be a chain too!) that has good but inexpensive furniture. I got my sectional couch from there any love it!

  8. In New Jersey, divorce laws provide both no-fault and fault-based grounds for dissolution. No-fault grounds include irreconcilable differences, while fault-based grounds may involve adultery, cruelty, or abandonment. Residency requirements mandate at least one spouse to be a state resident for one year. Equitable distribution governs property division, aiming for a fair but not necessarily equal split. Alimony considerations include duration, financial status, and contributions. Child custody decisions prioritize the child's best interests, determining visitation and support. Legal representation is essential for navigating the complexities of New Jersey's divorce laws.
