I’ve always loved the Fourth of July, but this year I’m especially excited! Typically my family gets together at our beach house to celebrate all together, but since the house was damaged during the hurricane last fall, it’s not looking like that will be a possibility. Even with this change in plans, I’m happy to know about it now, given that last year we were all set on heading down there but decided it was in everyone’s best interest with Covid to cancel. I don’t do well with changes in traditions, and the last-minute change coupled with the fact that I truly didn’t do much of anything on the Fourth of July had me ready to throw quite the pity party. This year, I’m happy to know in advance and have alternate plans that will be lots of fun. I have no doubt it’ll be busy on the lake for the Fourth of July, but I’ll just be happy to be by the water!

I think family time in one of my favorite places is part of the reason I love the Fourth of July so much. There seems to be less pressure than on other holidays, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that a theme is always persuasion for me to love something even more. Give me an excuse to dress for a holiday, and it seems like the Fourth of July comes with plenty!
