dress // monogrammed converse // bracelets ( 1 & 2 ) // gold and white bracelets
There is something about navy and white stripes that screams "nautical" to me. As of late, my closet seems to have been invaded by stripes, especially those of the navy and white nature. Coming home (hello spring break) to the coast of Alabama and growing up by the bay only encourages this obsession more.
As I packed away some of my winter clothes to make room for spring clothes when I head back to school I realized that while I have a number of dresses similar to this one the tie detailing makes this particular dress a bit unique. Nothing is quite as disappointing as falling in love with a piece and then checking to see the price tag only to realize it's a bit out of budget. Well, you can rest easy with this particular look since this dress is from Old Navy and is under $30. I've been frequenting Old Navy's website more and more lately as I've discovered that so many of their pieces are student-teaching appropriate and they have equally as cute pieces perfect for everyday wear. The lace-up look has been so on trend this winter and I fully expect it to transition with us into spring and summer. While I've steered clear of that look for a while the combination of that style with this dress made it an easy choice for a must have. The material is SO soft and would be as comfortable to lounge around in as it would be chic for running errands out and about.
To stick with the casual and cute look I decided to pair this dress with my monogrammed converse. I've had these since sophomore year and while they could definitely use a bath they are so easy to pair with just about anything! The navy stitching and red detail evident on classic converse has me thinking about how perfect this look would be for the Fourth of July as well. While that would certainly be planning in advance it's always nice to have pieces on hand that work well over time.
All of this navy and white had me scavenging Old Navy's site for all things navy and white or pieces that would be cute to go along with it. Well, that led to a lot of the cutest finds that I couldn't help but share with you all!
scarf // cognac tote // bathing suit bag // one shoulder ruffle bathing suit // silver strap sandals // tortoise sunglasses // panama hat
embroidered chambray dress // navy and white striped dress // chambray drop waist dress // floral frock
I'd love to hear which pieces are your favorite or if your closet has found as many navy and white additions as mine as of late!
Blue and white stripes with white Converse is such a classic but cute look!

I tried on the striped tunic top with the embroidery & the tassels and absolutely fell in love. If only I could snag it on sale-that's when I love to pick up Old Navy stuff!
