Happy Friday! I am so content this morning as I write this since I'm energized from an early morning workout & a new found adoration for holiday k-cups! This week was one of those weeks where each day felt like an eternity but somehow the week still managed to fly by. We talked about this being the case all the time when I was a camp counselor and it is all too true for school sometimes: the days are long but the week ( day/ year/ insert applicable time frame here) is short. Sometimes it scares me just how fast this semester is going by. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week and exams and the holidays will be here before we know it.
Now that you've gotten a little glimpse of how my brain is processing things currently here are some of the highlights from this past weekend and week. Also, for all of you who love these posts remember that there is a label in the sidebar that can take you to all of these that I've ever done!
The weekend started busy as ever. I had to attend a math conference for class, then we had a philanthropy event for my sorority, and that night I was invited to a fraternity's semi formal. That didn't start until later on so I was able to grab food with two of my roommates who had their sorority's semi formal that night as well. It's a rare occasion for us to all look nice on the same night and while we were missing one 3 of 4 roommates dressed up on the same night may be a new record. The function I was attending didn't start until 10:00 so after dinner I came back and got ready, helped Nell and Caroline get ready, and then went to meet my date and friends before hand.
Saturday I slept in for the first time in a while although I woke up with a cold & a sore throat. We all hung around for most of the morning grabbing lunch before heading out to tailgate and attend our last home football game of our college career. Sadly I didn't get any photos from that but on the flip side Furman won which is exciting (and kind of rare). That night was one of my favorite parties of the year, Barn Party, which everyone is invited to regardless of the fact that one fraternity puts it on. There was a band and bonfire and it was good to see everyone out and about. I am definitely glad I dressed in layers but wasn't as cold as I've been some other years.
Sunday I slept in and did some general to-dos like laundry and cleaning before planning chapter and working on some homework to start the week out on the right foot. This week I haven't had too much do although I feel like I am constantly darting between meetings and trying to get some big assignments done decently in advance.
I wish I had more to share but in reality I'm just trying to get as much done before Thanksgiving break as possible since I don't want to spend the whole break working on assignments and I have a lot due right when I come back. I hope y'all have had a good week and have a good weekend as well, mine will be very KD filled with our winter formal tonight and workshops on Saturday and Sunday with officer installation on Sunday night!
I love the sweater you are wearing at the barn party! Jess at Just Jess
