Hello Monday. Leaving the weekend behind is never fun but as someone who is more productive when I have a routine or schedule, I suppose it isn’t all bad (at least that is what I am telling myself). As many of y’all know, this semester I am doing my student teaching practicum in a fourth grade classroom to finish out my time as an Education Major at Furman. The classroom I am in is the same one I got to visit twice a week last semester, so fortunately I know the students and my cooperating teacher pretty well, which makes this transition into what feels like the real world a little bit easier.
As I am easing into my full time teaching I have been able to teach a number of lessons in math and social studies and will continue to expand that to other subjects over time. While no two days are the same at the school I thought it could be fun to share what I am up to generally each day. I am slowly figuring out how to make the most of my time at Furman and hope that that will get easier over time.

Well, there you have it. A typical day’s schedule this semester. While there are a number of challenges that come with student teaching (getting out of the car when you arrive at school & trying to figure out when you’re going to pick up your packages from the mail room at Furman) forcing myself to go to bed early has been a little difficult. Reading at night has definitely helped with that, and I know over time I will continue to get more and more tired so it may start to come a bit more naturally.
I hope y’all enjoyed this look, however, if you’re looking for what a normal day used to look like when I had class I have posts about that here and here.
That's so awesome how you can spend your student life racking up experience teaching. It'll set you forward for the future for sure!

I wish I could function at 5:20.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to this routine! Mine was so similar when I was student teaching. It's such a new routine, totally different from college life; although it is totally worth it in the end. You've got this girly!

Your story is very interesting and it's great that you are managing your time well. Unfortunately, I didn't know how to do it properly before, but I am grateful to nursingpaper.com . Thanks to their help, I have more free time. Even then, I knew I needed help and I was failing and I couldn't find a really good resource to help me. It's up to each individual to figure out what will help them get the balance they need and when.
