Barn Party Attire + Photos

For starters, Happy Halloween!

So, this past weekend my friends and I decided to attend a party that everyone told us is one of the most fun parties of the year. After hearing that about it we were sold and decided it would be a fun way to spend our evening (considering I worked on a research paper all of Saturday).

The party was KA's barn party which was in fact a blast. It was a huge party in a field with a band, swing dancing, and more! The weather was quite chilly so choosing what to wear proved to be challenging. Traditionally every one goes the route of jeans, a flannel shirt, vests, and some kind of boots. Since it was so chilly we all worked around the attire in the best way we could!

We all had a blast and enjoyed lively music, swing dancing with friends, and the warmth of the fire. We are already determined that we shall bring individual zip locks for smores next year!

Here are the photos from the event:

My friends, knowing about my blog, insisted on a couple of individual shots so this is what they got, me laughing and all! At least it shows you what I wore...

Y'all I have the cutest friends, loved dressing up and staying warm with them!

Nell and I decided that this is going to be our roommate christmas card photo!

Can you say dysfunctional?

Recognize anyone familiar? Maybe Prep Avenue?

I wish we had gotten a big group photo but the lighting was awkward and we were too busy swing dancing, or as I have discovered in South Carolina "Shagging."

Here was my original outfit idea before I checked the temperature!

Krass and Co Shorts + 20% Off Coupon

This semester at Furman, I am taking a Health and Wellness course that requires a class workout day twice a week. While I am good about getting dressed and ready to look presentable for class, those days I have no choice but to look sporty/athletic in workout attire.

Even when dressing for workouts, I attempt to look semi put together (read making sure my outfit matches) since I do have other classes on my workout days. Recently, I discovered the brand Krass and Co and applied to become a Brand Representative for their company. They accepted my application and I am now able to share an amazing discount code that will get you 20% off your purchase every time!

Use the code FURMAN20 whenever you check out from Krass and Co for 20% off of your purchase!

To start, Krass and Co is an American brand that makes preppy athletic shorts and tshirts!
"Combining the perfect dose of class with an unmatched element of flash and athletic-style, these shorts are more than well-suited for any adventure you find yourself on."

Below I have made a graphic of a cute pairing of Krass and Co shorts with a Long Sleeve T-Shirt that would be perfect for working out, lounging, and everything in between!

Winter Warmth with Krass and Co

Here are examples of several of the precious shorts Krass and Co makes and don't be fooled, they make shorts for boys as well!

Krass and Co!

And, as a Brand Rep I got to see some of the fabulous new styles for Fall and Winter and they are ridiculously adorable! Not to mention, Krass and Co and College Prepster teamed up and made shorts that will be released very soon that I, of course, already preordered!

What do y'all think about Krass and Co?

My Library Look

Recently, I have been spending a ridiculous amount of time in the library. Ironically enough, I am writing this post while sitting in the library during a short study break. I lucked out and was not assigned any midterms however I have been spending the last few weeks laboring over a research paper. The amount of time I have put into it is unreal so hopefully my grade will reflect that!

With all of the time I have spent in the library, I have developed a typical outfit I will throw on before camping out in a cubicle!

My Library Look

I have been good about getting dressed and looking presentable for class but studying for me is definitely a time to be comfortable so I do not typically remain in my class clothes (props to you if you do!).

I grab either a pair of workout leggings or crops or a pair of comfortable jeans to wear as my bottoms. It has been chilly in the evening here so shorts are no longer practical otherwise nikes shorts would definitely be thrown into this mix.

Next I grab either a pullover jacket (typically monogrammed) or an oversized sweater (with the occasional scarf). Again, comfort is key.

Now for shoes, depending on my choices above, I gravitate towards tennis shoes, riding boots, or even moccasins to trek to the library.

After that, I strategically pack my back pack, grab some coffee, and head to the lower level of the library.

P.S. I have also learned that the library can be a very social place so it is crucial to choose a spot in the back corners or bottom floor if you want to be productive!

Here is another study attire image that I created last year, the post for that one is here!
{Oddly enough I posted this on the 30th of October last year!}

Fall Break Recap {Watercolor}

Fall break was a few weeks ago and lets just say it was much needed! I was so excited to have some time off from school and catch up on some sleep. A couple of friends and I along with our fabulous mothers went to a friends house in Watercolor to enjoy the beach and good company!

For October it was surprisingly warm and we enjoyed tons of time both on the beach and in the water!

We biked and shopped and ate and enjoyed our 4 day break!

Now school is very much back in the swing of things so hopefully I will be able to make it to Thanksgiving!

Pehr Designs

If you are looking for classy, sturdy, and functional storage options, look no further than Pehr Designs.
Pehr Designs sells all sorts of beautiful textiles ranging from placemats and napkins to storage and totes.

In my closet here at school, I have utilized one of their lovely storage bins and have found many uses for it.

They come in tons of different colors and designs and many are muted meaning they would look great visible in living spaces!

I think it would be cute to have one of Pehr Designs rustic looking totes by a fireplace with firewood in it but that is probably related to my love of fall!

Lilly Pulitzer + Monograms = Archaholic

Today I am so excited to introduce you to a super fun etsy shop I discovered! This shop is Archaholic and specializes in designs and prints and boy oh boy are they cute! I recently got a couple of prints from this shop to put in my dorm room and I couldn't be any bit more excited about the way they look!

Ren, the owner and designer behind these prints, sells the cutest monograms, letters, and phrases that are made up of Lilly prints. I have a D in my closet and my monogram by my desk and the print definitely dress up boring cinder blocks!

Here you can see the bright colors present in the print!

Ren is great about doing custom prints as well so definitely check out her shop!

Fall Must Have: Brown Boots

The leaves are changing colors and falling so what better shoes to wear to crunch those leaves than brown riding boots! Riding boots, and brown ones particularly, are going to be my go to shoes this fall and winter. I will be adjusting to chillier temperatures and what better way to keep your feet warm than to put on some socks and boots!

Brown Boots

You can find brown riding boots pretty much at any store that sells shoes but below I will list some sites that are my go to shops when I am looking at boots!

Where to buy boots?
Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Macy's, DSW, Zappos

These are places where you will probably find the largest quality selection of boots!

Tiny Tulips Monogram Scarf

The air is awfully crisp at the moment in South Carolina. Being from Alabama, I am not used to experiencing all four seasons so this chill in the air wasn't expected just yet! I am loving that I have already broken out boots, sweaters, and scarves!

For me, scarves have been a great way to accessorize an outfit. I have all morning classes so when I check the temperature to get dressed in the morning it is 8:00 and chilly. I have found that adding a scarf to a sweater or long sleeve top is a great way to dress for the chilly morning and it makes my outfit easy to adjust as it warms up during the day.

As with just about anything else, I am particularly drawn to ones that have my monogram on them!
Recently, my favorite monogram scarf is the one I have from Tiny Tulip, an online monogramming boutique.

These are just some of the ways I have been enjoying pairing this scarf!

Be sure to check out the wide array of scarf options on Tiny Tulips website!

What is your favorite type of scarf? How do you wear it?

Parents Weekend Picture Recap

Parents weekend was two weeks ago and it was so nice to have my parents in town! They got to Greenville on Thursday night so of course I seized the opportunity to join them for dinner that night. I am used to being away from my family since I have worked at camp but it is always so nice to be back together again!

Friday night instead of all going out to a restaurant we (with our parents) went to my friend Anna's house (she is a Greenville native) for a cookout. We all had a blast and it was so fun to meet my friends parents!

Saturday morning I went to breakfast with my parents and then it was game time. We tailgated and then headed into the extremely hot game.

Caroline and I.

Dad even dressed in his purple to support the Paladins!

Obligatory parents weekend pic with the parents!

My sweet roommate, Nell!

Room mate photo again.

We were all dying at this point. It was far too hot to be October in South Carolina!

And leave it to dad to ruin a picture!

My friends and I all took our Eno Hammocks (thanks mom and dad!) out on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed doing some homework by the lake.

And we only had one fall!

Just call me mother goose!

It is finally starting to feel like fall here and I am loving all the changing leaves!
