Summer Dresses Under $40

Dresses in the summer seem like a no brainer. It’s one piece that is easy to throw on that doesn’t hug your body as the temperatures rise. I see this as a major win, especially when the dresses we are talking about are both under $40 and are sure to leave your friends asking, “where did you get that?” I bet they won’t believe you when you say Walmart since that was the response I gave my friends as a puzzled look crossed their faces.  Walmart’s We Dress America campaign has led the company to step up their clothing, shoes, and accessories to a level that rivals the cute boutiques you may be used to shopping at.

Still skeptical? Once you see these outfits, I have a feeling you’ll change your mind. We will start with the less expensive dress option I picked out that at $18 may be worth buying in every color. It’s no secret that I love a ruffle, peplum, or drop waist hem, so I’m not surprised that I was drawn to this dress. While I was tempted to order it in the blue and white stripe option, I decided that my closet could use a bit of variety and opted for the sky blue color instead. It’s nearly a mint green, a color I don’t own a lot of, but love! Whether wearing this to church, a bridesmaid luncheon, or even work with a cute jacket, the knee length and square neckline make the dress look balanced and suitable for a variety of occasions. I picture myself wearing this dress more casually on the weekends and decided to pick up a fun pair of shoes to pair with it. I had seen similar flatforms to the pair I ultimately ordered but hadn’t seen them before in grey. While all the colors are cute, I like knowing that I’ll be able to wear the grey color well into the fall here in Alabama. I was shocked by just how comfortable they are after wearing them all day to work and then to a friends’ birthday dinner last night and had to laugh when my friend showed up in the same pair but in  this print.

And before you scroll to the next outfit,  my exact Michele Watch is currently $443 off on Walmart’s site. They have other versions of Michele Watches  here in case mine isn’t your taste, but if you’ve been considering getting one I’d act fast since this is such an amazing deal! Also be sure to check out the other luxury brands listed on the site since many of them offer similarly impressive discounts.

The second dress I’m excited to share with you is a little bit more expensive at $36.50 but is still at an attainable price point when it comes to a well made, fully lined dress. This one is from  Sofia Vergara’s collection for  Walmart and comes in four different colors. While the other ones are equally as pretty, I loved being able to use the white one I picked as a neutral for the cute round pink purse I had previously seen on Walmart’s site. I love a good off the shoulder dress in the summer to show off a bit of a tan, and the eyelet detailing on the ruffles makes it look pricier than it is. If you’re a bride hoping to wear white to any parties in your honor this summer this may be just the thing you’re looking for! The longer length makes it perfect to pair with wedges although it looks equally as cute thrown on more casually with a pair of sandals.
