Novels with Nell - All We Ever Wanted

As I have been packing this week, I realized just how many books I own. With a box packed of coffee table books and another one full of books I've read and others I plan to read, my bookshelves have good company. So often I find myself looking at books on Amazon and adding them to my cart over time. Then, we go to purchase something off of there I have the hardest time deciding which are worth keeping and end up with all of them. Since I have quite a few that I need to read from my shelf, I am hoping that will encourage me to not snag any new ones for a bit!

Although I had heard and seen Emily Griffin's books for years, it wasn't until Nell let me borrow a few to read over Christmas break and I flew through them. Oddly enough, I don't necessarily gravitate to overly girly books but this one definitely doesn't seem too girly. In fact, I definitely think it would be one that I would enjoy with the twists it has and the intriguing plot line.

By: Emily Giffin

I read this book earlier this summer and couldn’t put it down. I think I read it within 2 days. I’ve loved all of Emily Giffin’s books, and this one is no exception. The incident in the book is something that could easily happen in today’s world and causes you to examine how you would approach something like that. There was always a twist in the plot that kept things interesting until the very end!

“Nina Browning is living the good life after marrying into Nashville’s elite. More recently, her husband made a fortune selling his tech business, and their adored son has been accepted to Princeton. Yet sometimes the middle-class small-town girl in Nina wonders if she’s strayed from the person she once was. Tom Volpe is a single dad working multiple jobs while struggling to raise his headstrong daughter, Lyla. His road has been lonely, long, and hard, but he finally starts to relax after Lyla earns a scholarship to Windsor Academy, Nashville’s most prestigious private school.

Amid so much wealth and privilege, Lyla doesn’t always fit in—and her overprotective father doesn’t help—but in most ways, she’s a typical teenaged girl, happy and thriving. Then, one photograph, snapped in a drunken moment at a party, changes everything. As the image spreads like wildfire, the Windsor community is instantly polarized, buzzing with controversy and assigning blame. At the heart of the lies and scandal, Tom, Nina, and Lyla are forced together—all questioning their closest relationships, asking themselves who they really are, and searching for the courage to live a life of true meaning.”
