Step Into My Week

I'm back! I had no intention of taking a short hiatus from posting last week, but to be completely honest I was exhausted. If only I had some of the energy my students seemed to have last week. You could just tell that all of the teachers were counting down until Friday and the start of our Spring Break, and I think the students had their countdown running for weeks. I had to remind myself that it was ok if I couldn't get it all done since I have this week off! I have so many ideas for different posts I've been hoping to share and am excited to finally have a bit of free time to process those ideas.

Aside from the extra energy that my students seemed to have, this week felt relatively normal. It definitely felt like a long week but that tends to happen when I have something I am looking forward to. I was not the best about remembering to take photos of my outfits and what I was up to but I'm thinking that will change since I'm planning on getting a new phone while I'm home. If you have any insight as to which is better, the iPhone X or the iPhone 8 Plus, I am all ears. Hopefully this will help the picture quality and keep apps from freezing on me like they have been.

One accomplishment from this past week was finally taking the time to switch my closet from fall/winter to spring. This is always such an undertaking since I like to take everything before actually going through what needs to stay with me in Greenville and what can live at home in Fairhope until fall and winter of next year. It was so nice to be able to figure out what I don't wear and can be given away. My closet has a lot more space in it now although when I bring my spring clothes back to Greenville I'm afraid that may not be the case.

My students recently found out about my blog and the youtube videos I've done for my blog and my cool factor has increased by a lot. We had to have a conversation about the fact that teachers are allowed to have a life outside of school. They have been really into it and even left me a bunch of drawings on my desk.

Once the end of the week finally came around I was ready for it. I spent Friday afternoon cleaning my car and packing so that I could get on the road early Saturday morning. A friend and I went to Sidewall for dinner as my packing break. I didn't do the best job of packing this go round since I've discovered that I didn't bring home any normal jeans. You win some, you lose some.

I left Greenville around 5:40 on Saturday morning and wound up back in Fairhope close to noon. My dad was doing yard work so my mom and I decided to go out to lunch before coming back home for me to take a big nap. Later that afternoon we took our puppy, Scout, on a walk by the bay. Sunday morning we woke up and drove to the beach for Easter. My grandparents have a beach house about 40 minutes from where we live which made it easy to all be together for the day. The weather was beautiful and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays this way all week.

Currently...

Reading: Work It
I feel like I've been reading too many books at once to make adequate progress in any of them lately. I just ordered two more books that I am really excited about to read over the break but really need to finish the ones I've started first. Work It talks about the secrets for success from the boldest women in business and has been interesting so far. I've always liked inspirational type books but recently have been looking more into career related books than before. If you have any recommendations in this genre definitely let me know.

Watching: Friends
I really haven't been watching much lately, but when I want something on in the background I have been choosing Friends without fail. Even my roommates have started re-watching the series. Since I am on spring break, I am considering starting a new show. I've had a number of friends recommend Queer Eye as well as This Is Us so I'll let you know which (if either) I choose to watch.

Loving: Greetabl
Through Instagram and the brand whose social media I run (@lbhprco), I discovered the cutest new business. Greetabl is the easiest way to surprise a friend with a treat in the mail. They claim to be "Better than a greeting card. More personal than flowers." and I am definitely in agreement. I immediately had to send one to a friend and Nell was the perfect recipient. She is finishing up the job she has been doing so I figured congratulations (and champagne gummy bears) were in order. You get to customize each part of the card as well as the contents and the pictures even come off as a little keepsake (since I can assure you those gummy bears are too delicious to last long). She sent me a picture of it once it came in the mail, and I am pleased to announce that it looks cuter in person than it did online. Whatever the occasion may be, I think Greetabl has just become my new go-to. Through the link, you can get 15% off the first one you send.

Wearing: Pajamas
My "wearing" category this week is more of a prediction than anything else. I fully expect to be wearing my pajamas for longer than usual this week. Hopefully this means I'l be caught up on sleep soon too!

I recently heard about the brand Summer Fridays through an instagram story of someone talking about the brand's Jet Lag Mask. Of course, I had to inspect this further. I was so intrigued with the product after watching the video about it, and I really want to give it a try. I wish it was offered in a travel size container so that I didn't have to fully commit right away, but the product sounds promising. It doesn't hurt that the branding is especially cute too.
