My Favorite Color for Spring

What color seems to be filling my online carts as of late? For those of you who have been around here for a while, I'm sure your first guess was blue. Honestly, as it gets closer and closer to summer I expect that to be the case however, lately lilac and other shades of purple have been the color I've been gravitating toward. Blush pink is a close second, but for now I'm going to have to say that lilac takes the cake as my favorite color for spring.

I've added two pieces in particular to my closet in this shade that allow me to incorporate the hue without worrying about sacrificing warmth. This first piece I discovered at Old Navy and immediately purchased in navy & purple. I've been on the hunt for a versatile jacket to wear out and about at night that didn't break the bank, and this one was so good that I decided both colors were necessary. Since purchasing  this jacket, it has been released in a few more shades and I've had a number of friends in disbelief that it was found at  Old Navy. I wouldn't be surprised if before long all the colors of this are circulating around it my friend's closets. Paired with a fun accordion style tank that I've had for a while and my favorite  Old Navy jeans I'm able to embrace the season before the weather begins to fully cooperate. I knew this jacket could make a statement on its own, but I decided that some brown accessories would be the perfect finishing touch.

The second purple piece that made its way into my closet recently was this purple sweater. While it is definitely on the blue side of the shade, I couldn't pass up the thick, comfy material at such a great price. Although it takes some hunting, H&M has some really cute pieces at affordable prices. Since the sweater does read more blue, I decided to mix things up by pairing it with white jeans. I used to never wear white jeans so early in the season, but sometimes blue jeans get boring. My take is that it is becoming a lot more common to pull out white jeans earlier on in the season. The purple of this sweater looks much brighter this ay than with jeans although I have been reaching for it a lot both ways!

Since I can't claim that purple is the only color I've been shopping lately I've included some a video of my recent Spring purchases. It is safe to say I am set for a while. I can't wait to share how I plan to style many of these pieces in upcoming posts!
