Back to School Blues

The day has finally come...It is my first day of school as a fourth grade teacher. I'm not sure when it will hit me but come the bell ringing at 7:45 by the time you're reading this the reality will have likely struck. If I were overly enthusiastic I could quote Nemo from Finding Nemo and start running in and out of my bedroom (the closest thing I have to an anemone) squealing "First day of School! Fist day of School!" but I don't think my roommates would appreciate that very much.

To "celebrate" the first day, I thought it would be fun to share an outfit look that I would wear for anything from teaching to eating dinner on the weekends, it's that versatile. After sharing my love of Tuckernuck in this post we can skip over my obsession of the store and instead jump straight to this precious top that I ordered almost immediately after I saw it. I've said it before but the statement comes with a slight correction now... I originally said that my closet is coming to be filled with only blue and white but now with my apartment bedroom and classroom boasting that color scheme it's only a matter of time before it encompasses me (I was going to make a reference to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory here with Violet turning violet but with one movie quote already I thought it could be too much, thoughts?). Had this shirt come in different colors I'd like to think I would have branched out and tried something other than blue but the Carolina hue to this blue added to it's simple yet sophisticated silhouette. The material of this top is really light weight which is crucial when I'm getting dressed for school in the morning since I'd rather not be sweating to death at our noon-time recess! And as I'm sure you've noticed from other outfit posts, I love a good peplum hem and the slight bell sleeves of the top are equally as intriguing. Some might say my style choices are predictable although I'll claim that I like the classics. I am appreciative that I read the reviews on this top prior to purchasing since it definitely runs on the smaller side making me thankful to have ordered a medium! Paired with white jeans now and dark denim later in the season, I know this is a blouse that I'll be wearing on repeat!

I hope that any of y'all starting school in the next week or so are feeling prepared and confident! I know I have a lot to learn about managing my own classroom but a cute outfit can help to kick some of that uncertainty aside. Best of luck!
