Wow am I glad that it is finally February. January seemed to drag on and if I'm being honest it wasn't the best month ever. While there were plenty of great parts of it I felt like I spent most of it kind of overwhelmed with school and responsibilities. With only a month of class as student teaching begins next week the number of assignments and projects I've had to complete in a short amount of time has been a bit ridiculous.
While I am definitely nervous to begin being in the schools full time one thing that I am so looking forward to is spending Valentine's Day with my class. As you get older Valentine's Day kind of loses some of its fun unless you have a significant other. No more exchanging Valentine's Day cards with your classmates or eating way too much sugar at class parties. Instead, you have class and if you're lucky your dining hall may do something special or you'll go to some sort of party with the theme. In the spirit of making Valentine's Day as exciting as it once was I decided that a festive outfit could do just the trick!
This pink sueded skirt was a favorite in the fall (last seen here) and I love that the hue makes it suitable for winter weather as well! And what could be more festive than pink or red on Valentine's Day? I paired it the one top that is probably the most underestimated piece in my closet. While I couldn't find it exactly since I've had it for a few years I linked a similar cute one for y'all to look at below. This top is cut a little bit shorter in the front making it perfect to wear with skirts. The material is also thick enough that I can throw on a dress and put this shirt on over it to make some of my dresses look like a skirt (highly recommend doing this in your own closet). Lastly, with a pair of fun pink tassel earrings and tan lace up flats I think this girly ensemble is ready to be worn to just about any Valentine's Day activity you may have RSVP'd for.
top (this top would look really cute) // skirt $24! (more sizes here) // earrings // shoes $25 // necklace // bracelets (1 & 2) // gold & white bracelets
I will probably be wearing a slightly toned down version of this in a little over a week for Valentine's Day celebrations at the school I am at! Now let's just hope the kids remember to write me Valentine's!
Also if you haven't found the perfect gift yet I have a guide for you here! You're welcome!
