Blue & White Popover Romper

Have I told y'all how much I've been loving all things blue and white lately? The answer to that would be a definite YES and judging by the looks of this outfit I am no closer to stoping that any time soon. It seems like all of the pieces I've been drawn to have only been made better by having that color scheme.

Before my trip to D.C. this past week I was checking the weather and was shocked at how hot it was going to be while I was there. Being from the South I am used to the heat but in my mind D.C. being farther North was supposed to mean that the heat wouldn't be as brutal as it has been in Alabama. Boy was I wrong! Breezy clothing was essential for my trip and I quickly became obsessed with rompers. I've owned a few in the past but recently got the one featured here and another one that will be on the blog in the coming weeks and these were total game changers. I am pretty picky when it comes to rompers since I want them to be long enough but also not look awkward on and this Cupcakes and Cashmere Davidson Romper completely won me over!

I've found myself with more popover top style pieces in my closet than I care to admit but have come to realize that when you find a silhouette that you like you may as well embrace it. The extra fabric definitely didn't make this romper feel hot or stuffy and the open back overlay is a cute unexpected touch as is the bow tied at the back of your neck. I often find that rompers tend to be too short for me but this one's length never bothered me and I am 5'7" if not a tiny bit taller. The day I wore this in D.C was the hottest and most active day of our trip (more on that to come on Friday) and I never once felt as though I had improperly dressed.

Blue and white pairs so well with brown that it was a no brainer to put on these incredibly comfortable brown sandals and reach for my Tory Burch cross body bag and wrap bracelet to finish off the look. You could definitely dress this romper up for varying occasions and with it's lightweight material and airy back I am positive I'll be wearing this numerous times before the summer ends.

  4. Love that! It's so cute and unique, and I love it with those sandals too, I have a habit of only really wearing Jack Rogers in the summer, but those are adorable!
