To say I love snacks is an understatement. I am definitely a snacker especially when those snacks satisfy my sweet tooth! If I don't have some sort of snack between meals then chances are I'm starving by the time the next meal rolls around and the same is true if I don't eat a snack before I workout. I know that isn't always the popular time to snack but if I am not full before hitting the gym chances are I won't have as good of a workout or will start to feel light headed while doing some cardio.
Since summer is in full swing and our pantry at home is always better stocked than mine at school ever was (thanks mom!) it's easy to keep some of my favorite post or pre workout snacks on hand and thought it could be fun to share those with y'all!
As you can probably tell all of these treats are able to satisfy my sweet tooth while giving me a bit of energy before or after a workout! I also try to make sure to get a bit of protein in my system especially before working out and some of these snacks provide the perfect snack for that without having to reach for a spoonful of peanut butter (which I've also been known to do).
One of the tastiest protein snacked pack that I discovered lately is by Good Zebra. Their Spirit Animal Crackers come in three flavors (vanilla, lemon, and chai) and re-invented everyone's favorite snack in an all-natural and guilt-free way! Eating just 9 cookies provides you with 6 grams of protein while only indulging on 130 calories and not to forget how delicious they are!
So far I have tried the vanilla and lemon cookies and LOVE them. I haven't had animal crackers in a while but honestly couldn't notice a difference in taste. I am already planning to purchase more of these once I run out and am thrilled to try the chai once I finish up the vanilla and lemon ones. I think so far my favorite ones are the vanilla but you can do no wrong with either of them!
