Travel Struggles + Travel Essentials

My first time flying alone was quite a struggle. The weather was crummy and the Tuesday before Thanksgiving isn't exactly a slow travel day!

It began with my struggle of driving to Charlotte in the storm! Delta was kind enough to move me to an earlier flight that finally took off an hour after my original flight would have taken off! It was an absolute mess but I will spare y'all all the details and instead show y'all what helped me through it!

Below were some of my travel survival essentials for my travel struggles!

Travel Survival Essentials

1. Headphones and a playlist!
Let's just say that when we were stuck on the runway for an hour + a lovely man in overalls sitting in front of me suggested we all start singing and thats when my volume on my phone was cranked up and I was all too thankful for my headphones.

2. Snacks
My travel times were so tight that I missed lunch yesterday. I was thankful to have a kind bar and sour jelly beans stowed away in my purse to fill my stomach!

3. My vest
Not only did this keep me warm during the day but it doubled as the perfect travel pillow to use to take naps during my flight!

4. My Phone + Delta's App
Especially for a first time traveler texting my parents with updates as well as checking delays and gate numbers on my delta app were an absolute travel must!

What are your travel essentials that I should know of before flying back?

My Packed Carry On

When you are reading this post I will finally be on my way home for Thanksgiving. You have no idea how excited I am to get home, see my family and friends, and have a nice break from school. This will be my first time home since moving in on August 22nd!

This will also be the first time I have ever flown by myself so this will be an interesting experience and I can not wait to land and see my family at the airport!

Below is what all I have packed in my carry on bag. My two carry ons will be my tote and my backpack because even on breaks you can't escape the school work!

My Carry On Bag

The bag I am using is my Large Navy Longchamp that I got for Christmas last year and it is the perfect size to hold all of my travel essentials!

Inside I have:
My iPad + Case, perfect for watching netflix on while traveling!
My camera, so that it does not get broken while inside of a suitcase.
Minimergency Kit
Ray Ban Aviators
My Wallet
Keys + ID holder
Cell Phone
Gigi New York All in One Bag containing...
Hand Sanitizer, Tissues, Lotion, Chapstick, Emi Jays, Headphones, Sour Jelly Beans, M&Ms, and a granola bar!

Bon Voyage!

My Christmas and Birthday Wishlist

With exactly one month until Christmas (not to stress anyone out) and a month and a day until my birthday I thought that now would be the perfect time to share with y'all what is on my wish list!

My Christmas Wishlist

1. A Barbour Beadnell (or Bedale) Jacket in the color sage
I have had my eye on these for a little while and would love to own one. They seem like the perfect farm coat and seem to be a staple. There have been many times here at school that I have wanted a versatile heavy, comfy jacket to throw on and this one 100% fits those specifications! This is definitely number one on my wish list!

I think this would be the prettiest way to store necklaces. A few of my friends have these and I love the way they display your necklaces while keeping them tangle free! I would love having this sitting on my desk displaying all of my favorite necklaces!

Bama brother this is all you! Going to school out of state really increased my state pride as weird as that may sound. No one better mess with Alabama because I am remaining loyal to my sweet home and would love to show my pride for the state and my home team with this comfy spirit jersey!

I am a big fan of monograms and silver jewelry so what is not to love? I have been wanting one of these bracelets for a while and think that it would be a fun addition to my everyday bracelets! And, this one is under $55 such a steal for a bracelet like this!

While I do love the Vera Bradley luggage I own, I feel like this would be a classic and sophisticated addition! It is the perfect size and I love its appearance! This would definitely get plenty of use from me!

As insanely lame as this may sound I would adore finding bunches of these in my stocking or inside of a gift! While it may be more practical to just get gloves, these would surely keep my hands warm no matter what I was doing. I could also go for a few pairs of thick camp like wool socks to keep my toes warm but I won't be greedy!

7. Money
My friends and I are 90% sure that we will be heading to New York City for our Spring Break  (more to come on that later!) and I would love to have some spending money to use while there!

Are you sensing the fact that I am not used to cold weather because it is definitely implied. I would love a pair of these cozy navy suede to step into while in the dorm after class.  I have a pair of moccasins that I have sort of transferred to slippers but they don't have the fuzzy lining and I would love for them to be regular shoes again!

I feel like after 3:00 my phone is on its last limb. I would love to find one of these mobile phone chargers under the tree on Christmas morning. We had one for my old phone and it always proved to be very handy so I would love to have one now to keep with me for when my phone needs some hydrating (especially for break rounds during rush in January).

What is on y'alls Christmas Lists?

Albion Fit Giveaway

Ever since taking a wellness class here at Furman, I have been on a hunt to find some new cute workout clothes. Lately, I have been searching for cute winter workout wear for class. I feel much more inclined to purchase unique clothes from smaller, up and coming brands than I do from larger ones since I like variety. Upon, this search I stumbled and fell head over heals for Albion Fit, a United States based workout-clothing company designed by women for women.

Albion Fit Giveaway

I am so drawn to all of their pieces specifically the ones covered in stripes and ruffles. I am now the proud owner of one of their insanely soft long sleeved "Go Long" tops. I have it in ballet pink and it almost looks too girly to workout in. I also recently ordered there the sweet stripe full zip jacket and can't wait to wear it this winter. Fingers crossed that my next Albion Fit piece is the precious petal pants but I didn't want to get too carried away with my obsession.

Excitingly enough for y'all however, Albion Fit is going to send one of my lucky readers a Go Long top in the winners choice of size and color. Believe me, you won't be disappointed this is the most comfortable workout top ever and not to mention cute! I am sure this brand will take off so quickly in the near future and I cannot wait to watch their success. Not only do they have workout wear but they also have precious and unique swimsuits as well!

To enter the giveaway use the Rafflecopter giveaway below!

Be sure to check out Albion Fit's website as well as their social media sites because I am not the only one giving away their fun products!

Evelyn Henson - Painting as a Celebration of Life

Recently I discovered the cutest Etsy shop selling adorable girly painting and prints! I was originally drawn to this shop because of the map of Furman Evelyn sold but I instantly fell in love with everything else as well!

Evelyn Henson's pieces are so precious and creative and are the perfect way to spruce up any dull space in a room.

I hung her perfume bottle print by the side of my desk where I store my makeup brushes, lotion, and perfume.

Another one of her prints that I got is from her holiday collection. As a Christmas lover I couldn't not choose one that is an elf quote! Right now this one is displayed on our fridge!

And lastly, my very favorite of all, the Furman Map Print! This one has yet to be hung since we want to get a standing frame for it. I love the colors used and it is the perfect gift for any current student or graduate!

She highlights all of Furman students favorite locations in such a fun and playful way! Once we get a frame for it we are planning to display it on top of our microwave!

Be sure to check out Evelyn's shop for tons of unique prints!
