The other day at school we some how got on the topic of funny youtube videos during my study hall. We found some very entertaining ones that may just put a smile on your face in the middle of this week!
Lately J.Crew Factory has been spot on with their clothing. I am obsessed with all of the pieces and have already ordered a few. I wish I had an endless budget so that I could snatch up all of the pieces. Last week I had a post about some of my J.Crew Factory favorites but they keep releasing more great styles that I have to share!
Have you been loving J.Crew Factory as much as I have?
While I have yet to decide where I will be heading to college next year, I do have a confession! I have recently become obsessed with room mate searching. Many colleges provide profiling questions to match interests in order to best pair room mates and some colleges let you actively participate in this process by browsing others answered questions and providing links to others Facebook pages. As odd as this may seem, I have loved browsing through and finding room mates online. I obviously am not going to request a room mate yet seeing as though I do not know which school I will be attending but I have loved searching!
***Update: I wrote this post this past weekend and at that point I did not have a date. However, this week, I was asked to prom by a guy in my grade and I know we will have a super fun time! Keep this in mind when reading this post however I was a little to lazy tired to go through and change it!***
Last year this post was up at the end of January but this year it took a little bit more searching! Prom is still a while away and I don't have a date yet however I do have not only one but two dresses!
Two, you are probably thinking I am crazy but one was such a steal that we could not let it get away! It will be perfect for college sorority formals and later occasions but it is not my dress for prom!
At my school we wear long dresses for prom and it is tradition that the senior girls are allowed to wear white however it is not required. I chose a coral dress and couldn't be happier!
First, Here is my dress for prom! It is from J.Crew and about 5 miles too long for my 5'7'' self but otherwise it fits beautifully! I love the color and the fact that even with straps it does not look the least bit frumpy and I will not struggle with keeping a strapless dress up. I can not explain to you how incredibly difficult it is to find a sensible and modest dress without hundreds of jewels and sequins and a big slit up the side! If anyone is interested in a post about where to find modest and classy dresses for prom let me know and I will be happy to share since I have been through that same struggle!
Next is my $50 steal of a dress! This dress fits me as if the measurements taken for it were my own! I know that I will be participating in recruitment and hopefully a sorority in which I will need dresses for formals! I am sorry it is so small but I can't find another picture and haven't taken a picture of it in my closet. It is a long black gown with a pearl halter necklace attached that holds the dress up. It is very Audrey Hepburn esque and is both classy and elegant!
Now to worry about a date, shoes, hair, and makeup!
I am back again this month with another fabulous review and giveaway hosted by Miss Lucy's Monograms! I have absolutely adored working with them these past few months and am hoping y'all have loved it as much as I have!
This month I am discussing the Monogrammed Boat Tote! Let me start by saying that this bag is HUGE! It is incredible how much this tote can hold and I think it would be a perfect carry on tote for traveling considering how durable the canvas is! Growing up near the water and spending a month each summer at the beach I have seen firsthand the importance of a large boat tote and this one definitely fits the bill!
I love the bright pink handle and trimming and I paired mine with a navy circular monogram! Such a fun way to mix nautical, preppy, and monograms!

Todays fun fact is about Pills. I can not swallow pills. As random as this may seem it is a fact! I don't have any allergies so I have never really had to take medicine daily resulting in me never learning how to swallow a pill!
I am sure you will be seeing plenty of Valentines themed posts today and this post is no exception! I am going to share with y'all the outfits I will be wearing today! I hope each and everyone of you has a fantastic Valentines Day regardless of your plans!
For starters, Pajamas! Valentines Day started when I woke up this morning and this was what I was sporting! Some comfy pajama pants, long-sleeved t-shirt, socks, and a pony tail!
My next outfit is my soccer uniform. I am on Mardi Gras break right now so my soccer practice was from 11-12:45. Fortunately our soccer practice uniforms are a whole lot cuter than the uniform listed below!
And last but not least I will be showering and hoping back into some comfy PJs since I do not have any plans for the evening. Deja Vu of the first outfit but definitely more in the Valentines Day spirit!
Do you have any fun plans? What will you be wearing?
I hope you all had a terrific Fat Tuesday, I know I did. The real reason we have Fat Tuesday though is because it is a day of feasting before the first day of Lent (today) which starts a time of fasting! Whether you are giving something up or taking something on, I always find it interesting to hear what other people are doing as their Lent resolution.
The past couple of years we have done a family commitment.
We had Meatless Mondays, Wheatless Wednesdays, and Fish Fridays. This commitment has always been a challenge especially with hectic schedules so we committed to it for dinners only. Not only did it cause us to come up with more creative meal choices but it was also a great way to come up with our own recipes.
I am unsure if we are doing that same "resolution" this year but personally instead of giving something up, I've decided to add something to my schedule. I really want to focus on spending more time in the word. I am choosing to make it a priority to read Jesus Calling daily as well as the Bible. I know this is something that I should be doing already but so often I am already doing so much already that I forget!
I would love to hear of some other Lent resolutions of sorts so that I can think about adding them to my list as well!
I can't remember where I heard this but if Americans purchased 60 items made in the USA our economy would improve immensely. That gives me an excuse to purchase cute American made products right? Well Anchored Style is a great place to start!
With a motto of Classic, American, Anchored Style what is not to love with these preppy nautical goodies!
With stickers, hats, koozies, and shirts you can be well on your way to purchasing 60 American made goods to improve the economy.
How fun is this shirt and it is made of the softest material!
Bright colors and cool graphic designs make this bands products unique, fun, and preppy!
It is looking as though my Mardi Gras break will be spent inside considering all the rain we have been getting! Fortunately most of my rainy day attire is bright and cheery so I can head out on a gloomy day and not worry about getting wet!
This Fun Fact is a little strange but fun and a fact nonetheless!
I prefer mini M&Ms to the regular sized ones. I have no idea why this is but personally I think that they taste better! This christmas I was so excited to have found a big bag of the mini M&Ms considering they usually come in the tubes. Whether it be their cute little size or the fact that I take longer to eat them I prefer them to the regular size ones!
I am loving scarves as a way to dress up outfits that otherwise seem plain and casual, they add a fun pop of color and seem to draw eyes to them! I have plenty of favorite scarves but these infinity scarves from The Infiniment on etsy take the cake, they are so cute!
I have two chevron scarves (black and yellow) as well as a sheer white one with shiny thread and I love them all! They are functional and fashionable which can be a hard combination to achieve! Just the other day I paired the black chevron scarf with a magenta long sleeve shirt and received so many compliments! If you are looking for a statement piece to add to an outfit you should definitely check out the Infiniment and all of the cute designs of scarves offered their!
This gift guide is great for the preppy girls in your life! The best part is that I have included items from a variety of price ranges! If you wish to see exactly where these items came from click on the image and it will take you to polyvore where the links are shown!
If you had a Valentines Day wish list what would be on it?
As I am sure many of you are well aware, I LOVE ORGANIZING! I mean I write an article each month in the Smart Girls Guide called Organization Station. Whether it applies to school supplies, my room, or even blogposts, I am a big fan of all things organized! One of my favorite parts of organization includes the supplies used. Recently I found the cutest organizational supply company, I am talking better than the Container Store cute! This new site is called Poppin. The motto is to Work Happy and that is just what I will be doing with these precious new desk accessories!
When I opened up the box this is what I saw, how fun is it that they incorporated a staple remover on the box insert?
And look at these boxes, the color of the box translates to the color of the product which is a fun extra and unexpected detail!
I got an Aqua Inbox that looks great on the corner of my desk! I find it convenient to store some colored printer paper as well as my agenda and a pink Poppin ruler! On the top of the Inboxes I placed a pink Small Tray which holds an aqua stapler, a pink tape dispenser (both also from Poppin), and a picture frame with a photo of my best friend and I from the first day of school!
On the other side of my desk I have an aqua Pencil Cup with pink Ballpoint pens. I also have two Bits and Bobs trays which hold sticky notes, paper clips, binder clips, washi tape, and other odds and ends! I love the convince of these bins and the fun colors are hard to beat!
Below is a little overview of my desk and I absolutely love the way it turned out! Funny how my iPad case fits perfectly in with the aqua and pink desk accessories!
Do you prefer colored desk accessories or clear ones?
Alabamas weather has been incredibly odd lately. I am pretty sure last week we experienced all four seasons! Needless to say, it is indecisive! The hardest part of this indecisive weather comes when deciding what to wear. My new favorite article of clothing to accessorize with are these adorable infinity scarfs from The Tickled Tulip on Etsy.
I received both a teal chevron scarf as well as a grey polka dot scarf and not only are these scarfs a great accessory but they are also practical with the weird weather we are experiencing. I love how versatile they are from being an accessory as well as practical methods of warmth. These scarves are soft but also structured which makes it easy to adjust them when looping them as one does with infinity scarves.
The Tickled Tulip has lots of different fabrics that they use for these scarves and many of them are geometric! Many patterns come in multiple colors so you have lots of options when it comes to making decisions about the scarves.
What is your favorite way to accessorize when the weather can't make up its mind?
I am so glad that it is Friday, this week has lasted far too long! I am sure I will preface many of my Fun Fact Fridays with this statement! Feel free to join in on Fun Fact Friday and if you do please leave the posts URL in the comments so I can add your blog title to this post!
These weeks fun fact was inspired by my dinner on Wednesday! We ate one of my favorite meals, breakfast for dinner! Yumtown! Well while eating our pancakes and bacon etc I was inspired to share this fact with you!
Most people tend to eat pancakes stacked right?
Well, I do not like my pancakes stacked at all! We had a long discussion that night at dinner about how I dislike my pancakes stacked. I prefer my pancakes spread out on my plate because I believe that I optimize the amount of syrup used when I arrange them that way! Does anyone else do this or is it just me?
How do you eat your pancakes?
The winners of the hair ties will be announced at some point tomorrow!
